If you are going to read a book in the bible, pick it up and read it once a day for 30 days.
Once you do you will start to see what God is saying to us in the book.
Discover the Theme
Example: Turn to the Gospel of John.
John 1:1-3 says:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
The “theme” here is going to be the deity of Jesus Christ.
Make sure you really look for the Outline
Understand the Historicalsetting
Understand the Culturalsetting
2. APPLICATION (21:51)
Who are they?
What do we know about them?
How do they fit into the text?
Where are they in their spiritual life and development?
3. INTERPRETATION (24:02)
Once you understand the outline you can sit down and begin to Interpretit.
What is it that God is really saying?
— “There are many INTERPRETATIONS of the bible”

TEXTUAL CONTEXT – There is a context that gives meaning to a thought, a sentence, a verse. You have to understand the context of what the writer is saying.
TEXT WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE BIBLE
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone ( anyone meaning POWER ) snatch them out of My hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
What he is saying is, you have moved away from the truth of grace because you misinterpreted the word of God.
The Levitical law to their lives in order to maintain salvation, we are saved by grace and grace alone through faith not of works lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Hebrews 5:12 (35:19)
12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
Hebrews 6:1-7 (37:01)
6 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this will we do, if God permit. 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
